Why Use me for your Horse and Owner Photo Shoot?

Posted on May 11, 2018 by Ruth Ellen Photography under Equine Photography

It’s an important day, you have spent hours cleaning and grooming your horse, cleaning your head collar and bridle, choosing your outfits (which you are still unsure about) and worrying about the weather.  You just want your horse to behave and for the photographs to come out well, just like you have imagined.

I get it, it can be a stressful time and you can never guarantee how your horse is going to behave on the day.

I am BHS Stage 4 qualified and I have been around horses (and owned a few fidgety horses myself) since I was a child, so I know exactly how tricky they can be, and I’ll know when they look unsettled.  Just as importantly, I’ll also know the types of images that you will be after and how you will want your horse to look.

I understand horse’s behaviour and know the type of situations / things that can cause a horse to be difficult or spook and will recommend the types of images taken, based on this.  I am also a very patient person, so I will never get frustrated at you or horse if things aren’t going to plan.  So don’t worry if you think they may be spooky or fidgety, we will still get images you will cherish.

It makes the experience so much more enjoyable and less stressful when you know your photographer understands horses, knows when a horse is looking their best and interacting with you in an endearing way.

I am also aware that not all yards, have the idyllic setting that we would like, but we can always find places in any yard, that will work to get some gorgeous images.

If the weather is unsuitable, we will re-arrange at no additional cost to you.  Plus, I love styling, so if you are having trouble deciding what to wear, I will be more than happy to help on the day.
