When it comes to an equine portrait shoot, there is more to it than just simply taking a few photos!

I’m really passionate about what I do and because of that, I want to get more than just snapshots!

To get those images that really stand out, show the bond between you and your horse, whilst also capturing their character and them looking their best, it takes some work, knowledge, creativity and planning.

An equine shoot is an opportunity for you to get a little dressed up (at least more than your usual yard gear) and get some gorgeous images that you will want to show off.

Before the day we will discuss when and where the shoot will take place, what preparation is needed for you and your horse and some styling guidance (as well as on the day if needed). You don’t want these images to date!

The day before, I will check the weather to see if we need to re-schedule, contact you, just to finalise the details and then check the weather again in the morning just in case anything has changed. If we ever need to re-schedule because of the weather, this will be at no extra cost to you.

On the day of the shoot, we will have a look around the chosen location to find potential photo opportunities. The shoot will last 1-2 hours, to give time for at least one (maybe two) outfit changes, to get a variety of images and to make sure nothing feels rushed. I know owners can get quite stressed that their horse won’t behave, and that they won’t get the images they are after. If the shoot feels rushed, this will only add to the stress. On this note however, I am very experienced around horses (BHS Stage 4 qualified), so I know exactly what to expect, how they may behave or react and ways to work around this. I’m incredibly patient, and I don’t expect any horse to act like the perfect model. We will have plenty of time to get those gorgeous images, regardless of how your horse is behaving (and because I know horses, I know when they look their best).

After the shoot, I will edit the images and then arrange a viewing with you, so you can decide which image/s and what product/s you would like to order. This can either be face to face or over the phone and I will be on hand to make suggestions if you are feeling a little overwhelmed.

There is strictly no hard selling from me! I list the prices of all the products I sell, on my website, so you can check exactly what the prices are beforehand. I’m not trying to hide anything.

Once you have decided, I will do some final editing and re-touching to perfect your chosen image/s and any products that you order will be delivered direct to your door.

I want this experience to be as easy and enjoyable as possible, whilst also capturing some special and timeless images of you and horse.
