What’s it like to Have an Equine Portrait Session with me?

Posted on August 6, 2020 by Ruth Ellen Photography under Equine Photography

I have created my Equine Portrait Photography sessions to be a simple, relaxed and wonderful experience designed around you and your horse.

When you are ready to book your session, we will arrange a date and time over the phone and I will find out a little more about you and your horse. I will then send you a contract and invoice, both of which can be completed online, and once they have been completed I will send you an email confirming all the details which also contains the Product Brochure and your Welcome Pack, which explains everything you need to know to get the most from your session, from how to prepare, to what to wear.

About 2-3 weeks before the session date I will send you an email reminder of how to prepare for your photo shoot and to give you a chance to ask me any questions.

I will then give you a call or text the day before the shoot, after I have checked the weather, in case it’s looking like we may need to re-schedule due to the forecast or just to confirm everything.

On the day of the shoot, I will arrive and spend a little time with you, having a wander around your location to look for potential photo opportunities and backdrops taking into consideration how your horse might find certain locations. After this, I can help with any outfit styling if needed.

Then we will get started and I will direct you through the whole shoot, whilst also working around how your horse is feeling and reacting, changing our plan whenever necessary.

When the shoot has finished, I will show you a few of the products available so you can start to get an idea of what you might like from the session.

I will then contact you about 2 weeks after the shoot to organise your viewing which will either be an online gallery for a designated time period, an online Zoom call or meeting at my office, where you will watch a slideshow of all your images and then choose your desired product/s.

This viewing is a fun and creative session and there will be no hard selling.  I am just on hand to guide you through the whole process, so you don’t feel overwhelmed with decisions to make, and so you can make the most of your images. I recommend to allow at least 2 hours for this session so that you are not rushed if there are further products you wish to purchase.

Payment for any additional products will be processed either through the online gallery, an online invoice if the viewing has been done by Zoom or by card if the viewing is done in person. I will then do the final editing and re-touching to perfect your chosen images.

The order will be processed with the relevant suppliers and your products will be delivered direct to your chosen address, normally within 4-6 weeks (sometimes sooner).
