The First Equine Portrait Competition Winner

Posted on November 23, 2018 by Ruth Ellen Photography under Equine Photography

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the first of my two equine portrait competition winners.  We had to postpone a week due to the weather, but it definitely paid off, as we had a glorious morning with a bit of sunshine and it was incredibly mild.  The first horse we photographed was such a poser and it seemed like he almost knew exactly what he was there for and what he needed to do, that we managed to get through the shoot in record time and repeat for her second horse, who was also a natural in front of the camera.

This is incredibly rare, so please don’t let this put you off booking a shoot if you think you horse may be a bit (or a lot) tricky.  I am very experienced around horses and know exactly what they can be like, how they may behave and how to deal with it, and I also know when they look their best, so no matter how tricky they may be, we will still get some gorgeous images of you both.

There were so many images I adored from this shoot, that I struggled to choose which to share with you all but here is just a small selection.
