Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

So last weekend I thought I would try something new……… Equine Sports Photography!  And what better event to practice at, than the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials!  Having gone in previous years, I have to say, I have never noticed so many other spectators their with cameras.

Now I know I’m not as good as the Sports Photography Pro’s and there is definitely some things to work on, but it’s always fun to try something new.

However, as I was not one of the official photographers and therefore not always able to get into the prime position and people suddenly moving into my frame, I thought I would take a slightly different, more documentary approach, rather than the perfect jumping image.  Hope you can appreciate the slightly different angle I took in some of the images (and the fun side) and if anyone has any tips they want to share for this type of photography, I would love to hear them.
